Paris: The Ups and the Downs

Paris has been fun and difficult, but mostly fun. Today we went to a water park called Aqua Boulevard. There were lots of waterslides. Ones that required tubes, ones that went straight down, ones that were very boring, and one that had a loop!! They were crazy fun! we were in the water for like 6 hours and my hands were very wrinkly. One bad thing that happened was we had just finnished going to this train station, and we walked across the street to the bus stop and we turned around and my grandma was gone! we had to go to the non english speaking police, and it was horrible. i have to go now because these dang european keyboards are annoying me! bye

Now I'm in Paris! (Sorry, that sounds kind of arrogant.)

After being in iceland for three days i am in paris. it is amazing here! when i walk outside of my hotel (and then down the street, turn right, a few blocks, then turn left) you can see the eiffel tower! it is gigantic and very pleasant from a distance but when you get up close all you get is tourists, concrete, and construction, along with a giant steel triangle above your head. yesterday we went on a tour bus that was ok. apparently it wasn't "OK" enough for my grandma, because she started yelling at the driver, "I'm sick! Your driving too slow! I am going to get the number of this bus! I am going to get my money back...NOW!!!" it was a very unpleasant and embarrassing experience and i'am sure all of paris knew that too. today i am taking a cooking class where we bake some stuff. by the way i saw the arc de triumph and it is so cool. oh and also notre dam, that church. yep. thats all i have to say. bye!

Book Review: James and The Giant Peach, Matilda, and Boy

James and The Giant Peach is the best book ever. It has a great message and the plot is so suspenseful and keeps you definitely wanting to read more...and more...and more. Roald Dahls books are just so amazing and awesome! If you haven't (which you probably have) READ IT!!! Also if you like James and The Giant Peach, read Roald Dahls Matilda and Boy (Tales Of Childhood) because they are both great as well.

James and The Giant Peach plot:
James' happy life at the English seaside is rudely ended when his parents are killed by a rhinoceros and he goes to live with his two horrid aunts. Daringly saving the life of a spider he comes into possession of magic boiled crocodile tongues, after which an enormous peach starts to grow in the garden. Venturing inside he meets not only the spider but a number of new friends including a ladybug and a centipede who help him with his plan to try and get to New York.

Matilda Plot:
Story of a wonderful little girl, who happens to be a genius, and her wonderful teacher vs. the worst parents ever and the worst school principal imaginable.

Boy (Tales Of Childhood) plot:

Roald Dahl's anecdotal autobiography focuses mostly on his unpleasant experiences at three schools. Between ages seven and nine, Dahl attended school in his Welsh hometown, where he and his friends declared war on the neighborhood sweetshop witch and were roundly caned by the schoolmaster.
Attempting to save her son from such beatings, his mother sent him across the Channel to boarding school, where conditions were even worse and the boys had only each other in a world of authoritarian and often violent schoolmasters.
At thirteen, he was graduated to Repton, where his athletic abilities and his size shielded him slightly from the general atmosphere of persecution, though he makes it clear that the headmaster was a genuine sadist. In this last section, Dahl also looks forward in time to his coming adventures in Africa, and allows himself some observations about how his childhood experiences shaped his later life

CHANGE OF PLANS! Coney Island!

Today I actually went to Coney Island instead of school supply shopping because we were supposed to go to Coney Island tomorrow, but my dad said today the weather was nicer than tomorrow so we rode our bikes 8 miles there and back=16 miles (That means 41 miles in the last 2 weeks!) to Coney Island. I went on so many rides  and even the cyclone! They were so fun!! (and scary!).
The Tickler
The Cyclone
The Soarin' Eagle
Here are some pictures of the rides I went on:
